2 Inspire our hearts with fervent zeal,
O God of love, immortal King!
Thy great salvation here reveal,
And youthful hearts to Jesus bring.
3 Hasten, O Lord, the happy day,
When every youthful heart and voice
Shall join to sing the Saviour's praise,
And in His sovereign grace rejoice.

JOB XXXVii, 19.
1 NOW, gracious Lord, we lift our eyes
To where our expectation lies:
We now our work to Thee resign,
And humbly wait to witness Thine.
2 'Tis Thine alone to truly bless,
To crown our efforts with success,
To own the instruction we have given,
To guide through life, and lead to heaven.
3 Teach us to take our proper seat,-
Disciples at the Saviour's feet:
And watchful, prayerful, gain from thence
What we to others may dispense.
4 And when, a few more sabbaths gone,
Our work and labour shall be done,
May we, with all our youthful train,
In sweeter praise unite again.

GEN. xlvii. 3.
CHIEF Shepherd of Thy chosen sheep,
From sin and death set free,
May all Thine under-shepherds keep
Their eyes intent on Thee.
2 With plenteous grace our hearts prepare,
To execute Thy will;
Give us compassion, patience, care,
And faithfulness and skill.
8 Inflame our minds with holy zeal,
Thy Spirit grant to each;
And let us live, and let us feel,
The sacred truths we teach.

N what has now been sown
Thy blessing, Lord, bestow.;
The power is Thine alone
To make it spring and grow:
Do Thou the gracious harvest raise,
And Thou, alone, shalt have the praise.

FOR a shout of sacred joy,
To God, the sovereign King!
Let every land its tongues employ,
And hymns of triumph sing.
2 Jesus, our Lord, ascends on high;
His heavenly guards around
Attend Him, rising through the sky,
With trumpet's joyful sound.
3 While angels shout and praise their King,
Let children learn their strains;
Let all the earth His honours sing,-
O'er all the earth He reigns!

ZECH. ix, 10.
JESUS shall reign where'er the sun
Does his successive journeys run;
His kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
Till moons shall wax and wane no more.
For Him shall endless prayer be made,
And princes throng to crown His head;
His name, like sweet perfume, shall rise
With every morning sacrifice.
2 People and realms of every tongue
Dwell on His love with sweetest song;
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessings on His name.
Blessings abound where'er He reigns;
The prisoner leaps to lose his chains,
The weary find eternal rest,
And all the sons of want are blest.
3 Where He displays His healing power,
Death and the curse are known no more;
In Him the tribes of Adam boast
More blessings than their father lost.
Let every creature rise and bring
Peculiar honours to our King;
Angels descend with songs again,
And earth repeat the loud-Amen!

SMILE, Lord, on every effort made
To spread the gospel's rays;
And build, on sin's demolished throne,
The temple of Thy praise.
2 Send forth Thy word, and let it fly,
Armed with Thy Spirit's power;

3 True holiness shall strike its root
In each regenerate heart;
Shall, in a growth divine, arise,
And heavenly fruits impart.

Are in Thy word foretold:
Fly swifter, sun and stars, and bring
This promised age of gold!

PSALM CXVii. 1.
ALL ve Gentiles, praise the Lord;
All ye lands, your voices raise:
Heaven and earth, with loud accord,
Praise the Lord, for ever praise.
2 For His truth and mercy stand,
Past and present, and to be,
Like the years of His right hand,
Like His own eternity.
3 Praise Him, ye who know His love;
Praise Him from the depths beneath;
Praise Him in the heights above:
Praise your Maker all that breathe.

GREAT God, Thy watchful care we bless,
Which gives our feeble plans success;
Here may we oft delight to meet
Our youthful charge at Jesus' feet.
2 Here let the great Redeemer reign,
With all the graces of His train;
While truth divine His word imparts
To conquer youthful sinners' hearts.
3 And in the great decisive day,
When God the nations shall survey,
May it before the world appear
That crowds were born for glory here.

JESUS, where'er Thy people meet,
There they behold Thy mercy-seat!
Where'er they seek Thee Thou art found,

Such ever bring Thee where they come,
And going, take Thee to their home.
3 Dear Shepherd of Thy chosen few!
Thy former mercies here renew;
Here to our waiting hearts proclaim
The sweetness of Thy saving name.
4 Here may we prove the power of prayer,
To strengthen faith, and sweeten care;
To teach our faint desires to rise,
And bring all heaven before our eyes.
Behold, at Thy commanding word,
We stretch the curtain and the cord;
Come Thou, and fill this wider space,
And bless us with a large increase.
6 Lord, we are few, but Thou art near,-
Nor short Thine arm, nor deaf Thine ear;
O rend the heavens, come quickly down,
And make a thousand hearts Thine own!

ISAIAH liv. 2.
1 "STRENGTHEN thy stakes,-extend thy cords,-
forth the curtains of thy tent!""
Such were the sacred prophet's words,-
The prophet by Jehovah sent.
2 Encouraged by this high command,
And trusting in the promised grace,
Thy people, Lord, assembled stand,
To found a building to Thy praise.
3 Nerve every hand, enlarge each heart,
Assist the work we now design;
Thy blessing to the whole impart :-
The honour and the glory Thine.
4 Here may the young hosannas sing
To David's Son and Lord alone;
And children thus their witness bring
To Him-the precious Corner-stone.
5 And here, by pious teachers won
To love "the house where prayer is made,"
Be led to fix their hopes upon
That sure Foundation Thou hast laid.
6 Thus bless Thy cause, Eternal King,
Throughout all time-in every place;
Till with one anthem heaven shall ring,-
Grace to the Head-stone-glorious grace.

THE
IE glorious universe around,
The heavens, with all their train,
Sun, moon, and stars, are firmly bound
In one mysterious chain.
2 God, in creation, thus displays
His wisdom and His might;
While all His works, with all His ways,
Harmoniously unite.
8 In one fraternal bond of love,
One fellowship of mind,
The saints below, and saints above,
Their bliss and glory find.
4 Here, in their house of pilgrimage,
Thy statutes are their song;
There, through one bright eternal age
Thy praises they prolong.
