? Mourning souls, dry up your tears:
Banish all your guilty fears;
See your guilt and curse remove,
Cancelled by redeeming love.
4 Ye, who long, alas! have been
Willing slaves of death and sin,
Now from bliss no longer rove;
Listen to redeeming love.

5 Hither, then, your tribute bring;
Strike aloud each joyful string:
Mortals, join the hosts above,
Join to praise redeeming love.
"His name shall be called Wonderful,"

Isa. ix. 6.

JESUS, King most wonderful,
Thou Conqueror renowned;

Thou sweetness most ineffable,
In whom all joys are found,-

2 When once Thou visitest the heart
Then truth begins to shine,
Then earthly vanities depart,
Then kindles love divine.

3 O Jesus, light of all below,
Thou fount of life and fire,
Surpassing all the joys we know,
All that we can desire ;-

4 May every heart confess Thy name,
And ever Thee adore;

And, seeking Thee, itself inflame

To seek Thee more and more.

5 Thee, may our tongues for ever bless,
Thee, may we love alone;

1

And ever in our lives express
The image of Thine own.

"God is my portion for ever."
Ps. lxxiii. 26.

LORD, I would delight in Thee,
And on Thy care depend;

To Thee in every trouble flee,

My best, my only Friend.

2 When all created streams are dried,

Thy fulness is the same:

May I with this be satisfied,
And glory in Thy name.

3 No good in creatures can be found,
But may be found in Thee;

I must have all things and abound,
While Thou art God to me.

4 O Lord, I cast my care on Thee,
I triumph and adore ;

Henceforth my great concern shall be
To love and praise Thee more.

"The Lord is my light and salvation."
Ps. xxvii. 1.

1 TEACH me, O Lord, where'er I move,

To seek some trace of Thee,

And read some record of Thy love
In everything I see.

2 If beauteous flowers should open near,
From Thee their beauty springs;
If thorns and nettles make me fear,
Thy power controls their stings.

In every path of daily life
Uphold me in Thy fear;

Teach me, midst scenes of peace or strife,
To say, "My Father's here."

4 Though harm and evil walk my path,
Still let me see Thee there,

C.M.

And know that Thou canst curb their wrath
And hast me in Thy care.

5 I know that I am weak and frail,
A poor and helpless child;
And fearful foes my heart assail
Along the pathway wild.

6 Then teach me, Lord, where'er I move,
To seek some trace of Thee,

1

And read some record of Thy love
In everything I see.

"Suffer the little children to come."

Mark x. 14.

EE Israel's gentle Shepherd stands,
With all-engaging charms;
Hark! how He calls the tender lambз,
And folds them in His arms.

2 "Permit them to approach," He cries,
Nor scorn their humble name;

For 'twas to bless such souls as these,
The Lord of angels came.

3 Invited by the voice Divine,

We bring them, Lord, to Thee;
Joyful that we ourselves are Thine:
Thine let our offspring be.

4 If orphans they are left behind,
Thy guardian care we trust;

That care shall heal our bleeding hearts,
If weeping o'er their dust.

5 The feeblest lamb amidst the flock
Shall be its Shepherd's care:
While folded in the Saviour's arms,
We're safe from every snare.

6 Ye little flock, with pleasure hear;
Ye children, seek His face:
And fly with transport to receive
The blessings of His grace.

"To Him be dominion and glory."

Rev. i. 6.

WE sing to Thee, Thou Son of God,

Fountain of life and grace;

C.M

We praise Thee, Son of Man, whose blood
Redeemed our fallen race.

2 Thee we acknowledge God and Lord,
The Lamb for sinners slain;
Who art by heaven and earth adored,
Worthy o'er both to reign.

8 To Thee all angels cry aloud,

Through heaven's extended coasts:-
Hail, holy, holy, holy Lord

Of glory and of hosts.

4 Through all the world, Thy churches join
To call on Thee their Head,
Brightness of majesty Divine,
Who every power hast made.

5 Among their number, Lord, we love

To sing Thy precious blood.

Reign here, and in the worlds above,
Thou holy Lamb of God.

"And yet there is room."

Luke xiv. 22.

"YET
ET there is room!" The Lamb's bright hall of

With its fair glory beckons thee along. [song,
Room, room, still room! oh, enter, enter now!

2 It fills, it fills, that hall of jubilee!

Make haste, make haste: 'tis not too full for thee! Room, room, still room! oh, enter, enter now! 3 Yet there is room! Still open stands the gate, The gate of love; it is not yet too late:

Room, room, still room! oh, enter, enter now! 4 Pass in, pass in! That banquet is for thee; That cup of everlasting love is free: Room, room, still room! oh, enter, enter now! 5 Louder and sweeter sounds the loving call! Come, lingerer, come; enter that festal hall. Room, room, still room! oh, enter, enter now! 6 Ere night that gate may close, and seal thy doom: Then the last low, long cry: "No room, no room!" No room, no room! oh, woful cry, "No room!"

"They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing."-Ps. xxxiv. 10.

some way or other the Lord will provide:

It may not be my way, it may not be thy way; And yet, in His own way," The Lord will provide." Then we'll trust in the Lord, and He will provide; Yes, we'll trust in the Lord, and He will provide.

At some time or other the Lord will provide : It may not be my time, it may not be thy time; And yet, in His own time, "The Lord will provide." 3 Despond then no longer, the Lord will provide; And this be the token-no word He hath spoken Was ever yet broken: "The Lord will provide." 4 March on then right boldly, the sea shall divide; The pathway made glorious with shoutings victorious, We'll join in the chorus, "The Lord will provide."

"Suffer little children to come.'
Matt. xix. 14.

1 COME let us now our voices raise,

And sing the loving Saviour's praise;
For He who sits in heaven as King,
Delights to hear the children sing.

2 He always lends a listening ear,

When children to His throne draw near;
And speaks in tones of love and grace
To those who early seek His face.

L.M.

3 He knows what little children need,
And smiles when they His promise plead;
Then gently takes them by the hand,
And points them to the better land.

4 He knows how little children sin,
And yet He seeks their souls to win:
He points them back to Calvary,
And says,-I died to rescue thee.

5 Dear Saviour, now supply our need;
Now to Thyself our spirits lead;

Now change to flesh our hearts of stone,
And make us each and all Thine own.

through."-Ex xii. 21.

10.4.10.4.10.10.

LEAD, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom,

Lead Thou me on.

The night is dark, and I am far from home,--
Lead Thou me on.

Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene,-one step's enough for me.
2 I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou
Should'st lead me on.

I loved to choose and see my path; but now-
Lead Thou me on.

I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will remember not past years.

3 So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on,

O'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone;

And, with the morn, those angel faces smile
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile.

"God commanded thee to keep the Sabbath."
Deut. v. 15.

1 THE light of Sabbath eve

Is fading fast away;
What record will it leave
To crown the closing day?
Is it a Sabbath spent

Of fruitless time destroyed,
Or have these moments lent
Been sacredly employed?
