4 I come, Lord, pardon all my sin,
Create me clean and pure within,
From Satan's chains set free;
Then will I in Thy love rejoice,
And bless that kind inviting voice,
"Come, little ones, to Me."

"I am the good shepherd."
JOHN X. 11.

P.M.

ESUS is our Shepherd, wiping every tear:
Folded in His bosom, what have we to fear?

Only let us follow whither He doth lead,

To the thirsty desert, or the dewy mead.

2 Jesus is our Shepherd :-well we know His voice,
How its gentlest whisper makes our heart rejoice!
Even when it chideth, tender is its tone:
None but He shall guide us-we are His alone.
Jesus is our Shepherd :-for the sheep He bled ;
Every lamb is sprinkled with the blood He shed;
Then on each He setteth His own secret sign,

They that have My Spirit, these," salth He,
"are Mine."

3 Jesus is our Shepherd: guarded by His arm, Though the wolves may raven, none can do us harm;

When we tread death's valley, dark with fearful gloom,

We will fear no evil, victors o'er the tomb.

5 Jesus is our Shepherd; with His goodness now, And His tender mercy, He doth us endow,

Let us sing His praises with a gladsome art,
Till in heaven we meet Him, never more to part.

"Dwell together in unity."

PSALM CXXxiii. 1.

JESUS, Lord, we look to Thee,

Let us in Thy name agree;

Show Thyself the Prince of Peace;
Bid all strife for ever cease.

2 Make us of one heart and mind,
Courteous, pitiful, and kind;
Lowly, meek, in thought and word,
Altogether like our Lord.

3 Let us for each other care,

Each another's burden bear;
To the world the pattern give;
Show how Christian children live.

"Shall live for ever."
PSALM Xxii. 26.

IND words can never die ;
Cherished and blest,

God knows how deep they lie
Stored in the breast:

Like childhood's simple rhymes,
Said o'er a thousand times,
And in all years and climes,
Distant and near.

CHORUS.

Kind words can never die, no, never die.
2 Sweet thoughts can never die :
Though, like the flowers,
Their brightest hues may fly
In wintry hours:

But when the gentle dew

Gives them their charms anew,

With many an added hue,

They bloom again.

Sweet thoughts can never die, &c.

3 Our souls can never die;
Though in the tomb,
We may all have to lie,
Wrapped in its gloom.
What though the flesh decay,
Souls pass in peace away,
Live through eternal day,

With Christ above.

Our souls can never die, &c.

"My Father.. Guide of my youth."
JER. iii. 4.

EAD us, heavenly Father, lead us
O'er the world's tempestuous sea:
Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
For we have no help but Thee:
Yet possessing every blessing,

If our God our Father be.

2 Saviour, breathe forgiveness o'er us,

All our weakness Thou dost know;
Thou didst tread this earth before us,
Thou didst feel its keenest woc,
Lone and dreary, faint and weary,
Through the desert Thou didst go.

P.M.

8.7.

3 Spirit of our God, descending,
Fill our hearts with heavenly joy ;
Love with every passion blending,
Pleasure that can never cloy:
Thus provided, pardoned, guided,
Nothing can our peace destroy.

"They shall seek me early."
PROV. 1. 28.

P.M.

LIKE mist on the mountain, like ships on the

sea,

So swiftly the years of our pilgrimage flee!

In the grave, with our fathers, how soon we shall lie !

Dear children, to-day, to a Saviour fly.

2 How sweet are the flowers of April and May,
But often the frost makes them wither away:
Like flowers you may fade: are you ready to die?
While yet there is time, to a Saviour fly.

3 When Samuel was young, he first knew the Lord,
He slept in His smile, and rejoiced in His word;
So most of God's children are early brought nigh;
Oh! seek Him in youth-to a Saviour fly.

4 Do you ask me for pleasure? Then lean on His breast,

For there the sin-laden and weary find rest:

In the valley of death you will triumphing cry"If this be called dying, 'tis pleasant to die."

"Hosanna in the highest."
MATT. XXI. 9.

ITTLE children, praise the Saviour,
He regards you from above:

Praise Him for His great salvation!
Praise Him for His precious love!
Sweet hosannas

To the name of Jesus sing!

When He left His throne in glory,
When He lived with mortals here,
Little children sang His praises,
And it pleased His gracious ear.

8.7.4.7.

Sweet, &c.

3 When the anxious mothers round Him,
With their tender infants, pressed;
He with open arms received them,
And the little ones He blessed.

Sweet, &c.

4 Up in yonder spirit-regions,
Angels sound the chorus high;
Twice ten thousand times ten thousand
Send His praises through the sky.

Sweet, &c.

5 Little children, praise the Saviour;
Praise Him, your undying Friend,
Praise Him till in heaven you meet Him,
There to praise Him without end!

Sweet, &c.

6-5.

LITTLE drops of water, little grains of sand, Make the mighty ocean, and the beauteous land.

2 And the little moments, humble though they be, Make the mighty ages of eternity.

3 Little deeds of kindness, little words of love, Make our earth an Eden, like the heaven above.

4 So our little errors lead the soul away

From the paths of virtue, into sin to stray.

5 Little seeds of mercy, sown by youthful hands, Grow to bless the nations far in heathen lands.

"Bless me....even me.'
GEN. xxvii. 34.

LORD, I hear of show'rs of blessings,
Thou art scattering full and free;
Show'rs the thirsty land refreshing,
Let some droppings fall on me,
Even me.

2 Pass me not, O God, my Father,
Sinful though my heart may be;
Thou might'st leave me, but the rather
Let Thy mercy light on me.
Even me.

3 Pass me not, O gracious Saviour,
Let me live and cling to Thee;
Fain I'm longing for Thy favour
Whilst Thou'rt calling, call for me.
Even me.

P.M.

4 Pass me not, O mighty Spirit,
Thou canst make the blind to see:
Witnesses of Jesu's merit :

Speak the word of power to me,
Even me.

5 Love of God, so pure and changeless;
Blood of Christ, so rich and free;
Grace of God, so rich and boundless;
Magnify it all in me,

Even me.

Pass me not: Thy lost one bringing,
Bind my heart, O Lord, to Thee;
Whilst the streams of life are springing,
Blessing others, oh! bless me,

Even me.

"Whatsoever we ask we receive."
1 JOHN iii. 22.

MY

Y faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary:
Saviour divine!

Now hear me while I pray;
Take all my guilt away:
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.

2 May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire;

As Thou hast died for me,
Oh may my love to Thee

Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A ring fire.

3 While life's dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my Guide:
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow's tears away,
Nor let me ever stray

From Thee aside.

4 When ends life's transient dream,
When death's cold, sullen stream
Shall o'er me roll,—

Blest Saviour, then, in love,

Fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,-
A ransomed soul.
