QUEEN'S QUARTERLY

Queen's University

The laboratories are well equipped for instruction in Anatomy, Chemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Histology, Pathology and Bacteriology. The Professors in these departments devote their whole time to the work.

Practical and Clinical instruction is given in the Kingston General Hospital, L'Hotel Dieu, and Rockwood Asylum for the Insane.

SOME GENERAL ADVANTAGES

1. Queen's University Library has over 95,000 volumes and many thousand pamphlets and is one of the best collection of books in Canada.

2. Queen's Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology and Mineralogy are well equipped.

THE QUARTERLY was established in 1893 as a generai literary organ for Queen's University and its constituency. It will represent impartially the main departments of human activity and research, and its pages will always be open to Canadians who have anything significant to say on questions of either permanent or passing interest. Its literary management is in the hands of a committee and a permanent associate editor. The Quarterly is published in February, May, August, and November.

Special instruments for the testing of asphalt. cement, coal, flour, gas, iron and steel, milk and oils, are included in the list; also a wide assortment of colorimeters, furnaces, hydrometers, microscopes, ovens, polariscopes, refractometers, spectroscopes, thermometers and other forms of apparatus.

Our Glass Blowing Department is known for its accurate work, for example: precision hydrometers and thermometers, standard burettes, flasks, pipettes and apparatus according to blueprint.

The Machine Shop repairs and builds balances and other delicate apparatus.

Our Laboratory makes standard solutions and stains.

WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION

Day and Evening Classes

may be conducted in accordance with the regulations issued by the Department of Education.

Theoretical and Practical Instruction

is given in various trades. The schools and classes are under the direction of an Advisory Committee.

Application for attendance should be made to the Principal of the school.

Commercial Subjects, Manual Training, Household Science and Agriculture and Horticulture

are provided for in the Courses of Study in Public, Separate, Continuation and High Schools and Collegiate Institutes and Vocational Schools and Departments.

Copies of the Regulations issued by the Department of Education may be obtained from the Deputy Minister of Education, Toronto. Toronto, May 25, 1923.
