lavatory for this purpose exclusively; and more that the water, instead of chilling sensitive teeth, has the chill removed. A rinsing apparatus for automatically cleansing the bowl is also a feature, and separate water glasses are provided. A traveler recently said: "If for no other reason, I'd travel over the Alton just for this new idea." It's a big advance, but not the first made by the popular C. & A., which is the pioneer Pullman sleeping car line, the pioneer dining car line and the pioneer reclining chair car line.

CERTIFIED COLORS

A

A FACT AT LAST

FTER two years of painstaking experi-
ments we are the first to produce a col-

oring matter for food that we can certify
to the United States Government as absolutely
harmless. These colors comply with the re-
quirements of the Government in every detail
and may be depended upon always. We are
proud of the achievement in leading the way,
particularly in view of the fact that the Federal
and State laws have established the highest
standard of food purity known among civi-
lized nations.

Manufacturers have found it comparatively
easy to comply with these laws, but the prob-
lem of harmless coloring matter was the most
intricate and difficult to solve. Now it is settled
beyond a doubt and there is no further reason
why manufacturers of candies, cakes, or other
artificially colored food products should use any
but the safe Certified Colors we are now ready
to furnish.
