A silk band and rouleau head the scalloped bordering. The coatshaped casaque has four basques. Those at the sides are pointed. Two others, much smaller, square, and quite open, appear beneath these. Large sleeves. Bands and rouleaux head the scalloped trimming. The pointed vest-fronts are of goldenbrown silk. White lace chemisette and undersleeves. THE novelty of design and tastefulness of execution which always distinguish the importations of this establishment are particularly noticeable in the following costumes:

No. 1.-Visiting toilet of violet-colored faille. The round petticoat is closely plaited. The open train tunic is scalloped and arranged in large folds. The scalloped upper skirt is pointed in front and rounded toward the back, where it opens upon a black lace bouffant with three flounces; it also falls in a fold at each side. The buttoned corsage is partly open, with large revers. A narrow plaiting of the material heads the coat-sleeve, three narrow bands trim the deep cuff, and at the outer seam are three puffings of lace. Narrow lace ruffles edge the revers. All the rouleaux are violet. The ceinture and bow at the back of the waist, as well as the bow upon the chest, are

partly open at the outer seam, and is trimmed with two bands and a large bow of blue ribbon, with pointed ends. A deep ruffle of lace falls below the sleeve, and is very full at the opening. A ribbon bow should be placed at the back of the waist. Hat of pale-blue silk and white lace, ornamented with a silver aigrette and sprays of white daisies. Lace scarf-ends knot upon the chignon.

No. 3.-Costume of dark-green poult de soie. Plain train skirt. The gored tunic is rounded, and much deeper in front than at the back. Four rouleaux of black velvet surmount the graduating flounce of rich white lace. The second tunic is gathered in at each side beneath a very broad bias, which is framed in velvet rouleaux and lace ruffles of different widths. This skirt is quite open in front, and is draped at the back to form a small pouf and a broad fold, with the trimming run
