Matt. ix. 1. 8.

T that time: Jesus getting into a boat, passed over the water, and came into his own city. And behold, they brought to him a man sick of the Palsy, lying on a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith, said to the man sick of the palsy: Son, be of good heart, thy sins are forgiven thee. And behold some of the Scribes said within themselves: This man speaketh blasphemy. And Jesus seeing their thoughts, said: Why do you think evil in your hearts? Which is easier to say: Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins, then saith he to the man sick of the palsy: Arise, take up thy bed, and go home. And he arose, and went home. And the multitude seeing this were afraid : and they glorified God, who had given such power to men. CREDO.

OFFERT. Exod. xxiv. Moses consecrated an altar to the Lord offering whole burnt-offerings thereon, and slaying victims: he made an evening sacrifice for a sweet odour to the Lord God in the sight of the children of Israel.

Wherefore laying aside lying, speak ye truth every man to his neighbour; for we are members one of another. Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath. T that time: Jesus spake to the chief priests and
Pharisees in parables, saying: The kingdom

ven is like to a king, who made a marriage-feast for his
son. And he sent his servants to call them that were in-
vited to the marriage, and they would not come. Again
he sent other servants, saying: Say to them that were in-
vited Behold I have prepared my dinner; my beeves
and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready; come to
the marriage. But they regarded not: and they went
away, one to his farm, and another to his traffic. And
the rest laid hands on his servants, and having spightfully
treated them, they murdered them. But when the King
heard of it, he was angry; and sending his army, he de-
stroyed those murderers, and burnt their city. Then he
saith to his servants. The wedding-dinner indeed is ready :
but they who were invited, were not worthy. Go ye
therefore into the high-ways, and as many as you shall
find, invite to the wedding-dinner. And his servants
going out into the high-ways, gathered together all that
they found, both bad and good: and the marriage feast
was supplied with guests. Then the King went in to see
guests: and he saw there a man, who had not on a
wedding-garment. And he saith to him: Friend, how
camest thou in hither, not having a wedding-garment.
But the man was silent. Then the King said to the ser-
vants: Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into outer
darkness: there shall be weeping,. and gnashing of teeth.
For many are called, but few are chosen. CREDO.
