This little volume embraces specimens from the works of the most popular American Poets, and is presented as a companion to the “Gems from the American Female Poets, issued by the publisher in 1842. Its small size prevented the editor from giving selections from a considerable number of authors whose writings are not less worthy of admiration than much which the book contains.
