3 Waiting will not save me! 4 Faith in Christ will save me! 28. IWE are soldiers in the cause of the noble Temp'rance laws, And our banners wave to day triumphantly; Oh, the glorious news we hear East and west, both far and near, That our army's marching on to victory. Shout, shout, shout, as we go marching 'Neath the flag of liberty, For our banners won't be furl'd till we've conquer'd all the world, Marching, proudly marching on to victory. 2 We are fighting sin and wrong, and our foe's a million strong, But our banners float before us bright and free, In the thickest of the fight We will battle for the right, Marching, proudly marching on to victory. 3 One by one our foes have fled, some are dying, some are dead, And the bright and happy days we now shall see, When the people of all lands Clasp us gladly by the hands, Marching, proudly marching on to victory. 4 Won't you join the gallant throng, you can help the cause along, As we strive together for the mastery; Come, then, give your heart and hand To the gallant struggling band, Marching, proudly marching on to victory. 29. I DARE to do right! dare to be true! Dare, dare, dare to do right! Dare to be true! dare to be true! 2 Dare to do right! dare to be true! 3 Dare to do right! dare to be true! you too, Treasures the tears that His faithful ones shed, 4 Dare to do right! dare to be true! Keep the great judgment-seat ever in view; 5 Dare to do right! dare to be true! Jesus, your Saviour, will carry you through; 30. ICOME, sign the pledge and don the blue, And with God's help you'll keep it true, Come on, men! Come on, men! Come, come, come ! Come, sign the pledge to-night, my friends; Oh, sign the pledge to-night! 2 Let homes rejoice with hope and love, For God is smiling from above, 3 Fear not to stand and be a man, 4 Then victory shall crown each brow 31. I COME to me, Lord, when first I wake,- 2 Come to me in the sultry noon, Or earth's low communings will soon 3 Come to me in the evening shade,- Smile on me like Thine evening star. 4 Come to me in the midnight hour,- Like John, upon my Saviour's breast. 5 Come to me through life's varied way,- 32. I HAVE a Saviour, He's pleading in glory, A dear, loving Saviour, though earth friends be few, And now He is watching in tenderness o'er me, And oh, that my Saviour were your Saviour too! 2 I have a Father: to me He has given A hope for eternity, blessed and true; And soon will He call me to meet Him in heaven, 4 I have a peace: it is calm as a river— A peace that the friends of this world never knew; My Saviour alone is its Author and Giver, And oh, could I know it was given to you! 5 When Jesus has found you, tell others the story, 33. I WE'RE marching to Canaan with banner and song, 2 The sword may be burnish'd, the armour be bright, While lips are professing, "I'm on the Lord's side.” 3 Who is there among us yet under the rod ? Who knows not the pardoning mercy of God? Oh, bring to Him humbly the heart in its pride! Oh, haste while He's waiting, and seek the Lord's side. 4 Oh, heed not the sorrow, the pain, or the wrong, For soon shall our sighing be changed into song! So, bearing the cross of our covenant Guide, We'll shout as we triumph, "I'm on the Lord's side!' 34. I THERE is no love like the love of Jesus, Till into the fold of the peace of God 2 There is no heart like the heart of Jesus, Not a throb nor throe our hearts can know 3 There is no eye like the eye of Jesus, Never out of the sight of its tender light 4 There is no voice like the voice of Jesus, Like the musical ring of some rushing spring 5 O might we listen that voice of Jesus, O might we never roam, Till our souls should rest in peace on His breast, In the heavenly home! 35. I ONE there is, above all others Well deserves the name of Friend ; His is love beyond a brother's, Costly, free, and knows no end; They who once His kindness prove Find it everlasting love. 2 Which of all our friends, to save us, Could or would have shed their blood? But our Jesus died to have us |
