We do not prefume to come to this thy Table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousnest, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy fo much as to gather up the crumbs nnder thy Table u. But thou art the fame Lord, whofe property is always to have mercy. We must remember Chrift's Body broken for us, and his Blood the Seal of the New Teftament fhed for us, as we ought to do; with thankful giving up our felves to obey all the Commands of the New Teftament Seal'd with both his Body broken, and his Blood fhed for the forgiveness of our fins; (See the Lord's Supper, 3 2 and note) and with ftedfast believing that God will then give us the forgiveness and grace, and all other mercies promis'd in the New Teftament Seal'd with his Death.

n Lord grant us the Benefits of thy Son's Death, who do now remember his Death according to his Word repeated by his Minifter.

The meaning of this Prayer is thus. Because God gave his Son to Die for the forgiveness of all our fins, and ordain'd a Remembrance of his Death: We therefore pray that we, keeping this Remembrance according to his Ordinance, (with the belief and obedience requir'd of us) may have the Benefits of the fame Death: And then we declare how we keep this Remembrance according to his Ordinance.

Then fhall the Minister firft receive the Communion in both kinds himself; and then proceed to deliver the fame to the Bishops, Priefts and Deacons in the like manner, if any be prefent; and after that to the people alfo in order, into their hands, all meekly kneeling.
