2. Turn into Latin prose: When Coriolanus, a Roman exile, took command of the Volscian forces, no one was able to prevent him from taking many towns and plundering the Roman territory. Indeed, if his wife and his mother had not gone to his camp and defended by their tears and entreaties a city which the men could not defend by force of arms, the Volscians would soon have captured Rome. "When you were within sight of the city," said Volumnia to her son, "did the thought never strike you that inside those walls were your home and household gods, your mother, your wife, and your children?"

5. Translate into Greek :

He said that if they would send these ships they would conquer the Athenians. The ships were therefore sent before the Athenians were able to reach the harbour. When the general arrived he ordered the soldiers not to leave the camp till the enemy approached the gates. He was afraid his men were not very brave, but he thought they would obey him. On the next day many of the citizens came from the city to see the battle and to share in the plunder.
